BOTM Challenge July 2010

I had this block done a couple days after I finished the June block, but thought I'd better wait before I reveal it. So, here it is... my July 2010 block!

Happy bead emroidery everybody!

Golden Elegance Embroidered Cuff

The focals of this cuff are antique gold-tone button (center) and a couple of Mother-of-Pearl coins. It is made mostly of seed beads but has iris bronze freshwater pearls as well. It measures 8" (plus clasp), width is a lil over 1.5".

Can you tell I'm enjoying bead embroidery lately? Happy beading all!

Edited: I entered this piece in this year's IA State Fair for (Creative Arts & Crafts Department) Beadwork: Needle Constructed Jewelry... and won first place!

Batch Of Beaded Bead Earrings

These beaded beads were kinda staring at me this morning so I decided to finish them off as earrings. Great instant gratification pieces!

Another Pendant Set, Etc.

I started stitching the pendant (mid-morning) today and finished it after lunch. The button focal has a face on it so I digged my face beads and made a matching pair of earrings. This pendant is my fave amongst my recent finishes! The beaded bead garnet earrings will be available in my etsy shop soon. Instead of using my old account, which was dedicated to my counted thread embroidery, I decided to open a new shop today that will cater my jewelries... and hopefully, I can convince DH to sell some of his nature photography prints. The shop if "Haverhill Studio" but it's still empty at the moment. I need to take lots of pictures first before I'll start listing.
The last 2 photos had been done days ago. Can you tell I'm really enjoying making the same earrings?

Don't worry, bead happy!

Spare Beaded Beads And A Set

I love the fact that I have beaded beads available when I need to whip up something fast. The set (2nd photo) below is part of the birthday gifts for a friend, in our 2010 Birthday Exchange. The donut is now the focal of a necklace as well... gotta remind myself to take a photo of that!

Happy beading all!

Foundations For Bead Embroidery

My camera simply produces blank or blank photos last week so I thought it's damaged... not to mention I'm pissed off about it as I don't have any budget for a new camera! LOL

Lo and behold, tonight it worked! The timing is just perfect as I've been busy beading like a madwoman these last few days. I made a bunch of beaded beads and 7 bead embroidered pendants, 4 of which are in my previous post!

Anyway, the entire afternoon yesterday and 'til noon today, I simply made foundations for my bead embroidery pendants in assorted diameters. I also cut some square fabrics for my block-of-the-month challenge but they don't have stabilizer yet. It takes more time for me to prepare the square pendants thatn the round ones. I don't glue fabrics on my stabilizer, I prefer to sew by hand.

I'll be gone again in the next few days but my fingers will be busy, that's for sure! Happy beading!

Bead Embroidered Pendants

I've been hiding in my cocoon in the last few days but my hands had been busy! These are just partial of my recent pendant finishes. They range from 1.5" to 2.25" diameter.

When I finished the first 3 pendants, I showed them to DH and asked him what do they have in common? His answer was "white"... not the answer I was looking for but of course he's also right. I unintentionally used a shade of white beads in them, though not exactly the same color. I used cream, dirty white and champagne shades of white.
Anyway, can you guess what all these pendants have in common? Aside from the fact that they're bead embroidered and has white beads in them. LOL
Happy beading all!

Lakota Tribe Inspired Necklace

I finished this necklace a day (or 2) after I got the "Mastering Beadworks" book from SEllen. Thanks again for a fabulous book SEllen!
Anyway, when I saw the Oglala bracelet, I knew I had to do something similar... and I ended up with this necklace, or layered bracelet. It has a beaded bead and loop closure. The beaded bead has been in my UFO for a while, glad I finally used it though I think it doesn't fit the piece perfectly.

Don't worry, bead happy everybody!

Birthday Gifts For A Friend

Last year, I signed-up for a birthday exchange on a private stitching group I'm into... and my partner's birthday is this month.
Anywho, she's into jewelries so I decided not to stitch soemthing for her but make jewelries instead. These are all the pieces I will send her. The netted bracelet cuff was already posted before but not the matching earrings. The bracelet is similar to the one I made for MIL, as Mother's Day gift... though I added charms on this one. The necklace and earrings set is made of linked beaded beads with matching pendant.

Happy birthday Jodi!

Dragon Veins... Another Beaded Beads Set

Can you tell I enjoyed making the previous set I made similar to this? Well, this time I used dragon veins instead of onyx... plus I didn't wrap the stone with filigree caps. I love the faceted beads on this set, which I got from my last visit at Hobby Lobby. The pendant is a big beaded bead with mocha glass pearls, brown iris and metallic silver czech beads.

SSE-14... For Inca... From Evalie

My partners for SSE-14 are Evalie and Inca. I got these fabulous pair of post earrings from Evalie and I love them to death. My challenge for this round is "Black or Purple"! Aren't they pretty?

I sent 3 pairs of earrings for Inca but the blue pair was mailed on a separate package. So far, both the beaded beads (black) were already received... still waiting for the other one.
Don't worry, bead happy!
